      local Madurai news channel on the World literacy Day.

High Moments :

·          The principal as well as the teachers of KPM School were overwhelmed to see the interaction in the class and 
       to quote the principal, “I can see my students actually thinking and grasping the concepts”. The teachers
      were very willing to change themselves and implement our program in their school.

·          21 teachers of CMS School came into the XSEED Yatra bus, where a reflection session was done after the
      video. Here the teachers were able to witness the difference between their classrooms and the one s in the
      video, specifically in terms of colorful classrooms and practical application of knowledge in the primary sections.

·          The principal of GRG School Mr. Ravi was overwhelmed and thanked us for coming back to his school and
       taking his teachers through XSEED after having taken his insights in the earlier Bus Yatra.

·          The teachers of Aggarwal Matric School were surprised and very appreciative of the fact that four of the
      students who had joined in from a Tamil medium school were also responding to the questions Divya asked.
·          The Director of ALG Matriculation School was very impressed with with our entire team and congratulated
      Divya and Anuj for having taught their Science and Math lessons in an enjoyable way ; inspite of the fact that
      the kids had to sacrifice their P.E.Class for it.The children in the class were literally holding Anuj’s hand and not
      letting him go once his Math class got over.
·          Mala conducted a mini LSI on the bus for teachers of the St.Jhon’s school which made them understand what
      XSEED is trying to bring about in classrooms.

·    In Vasavi Vidyalaya School four local newspapers had come in to do a media coverage for us in Trichy’s Local
     newspaper articles are to be published on the 12th Sep ’09.

High Moments:
·  Jairam Matriculation School: It was an overwhelming response. The Vice principal came to pick us up, there was
   an entire event / program organised (audience of 200 people) with a prayer, Divya, Anuj and Myself treated as 
   Chief Guests, the principal and advisor addressed the gathering, post which I was requested to do so. Divya
   then conducted the Demo class in the auditorium itself. The correspondent and principal were present
   throughout the demo class and were extremely impressed. The management also runs a teacher training
   program (2 years) with B.Ed courses, the students of which were seated as audience and a few were invited to
   the bus along with the Primary teachers. The Correspondent also presented us with INR 1000 as a token of
   thanks (which was gracefully declined)
· Vallalar Matriculation School: Although the school was due to conduct the exam, all the teachers, the students
   and the Advisor were present in the Demo class and the bus visit.
· Star Matriculation School: Both the principal as well as the correspondent were convinced of the program and
  were eager to discuss the cost, but due to lack of time for a discussion the same is being scheduled for the
  following week. The Correspondent was visibly impressed with the schools which have partnered with us
  throughout.

Sri Narayani Matriculation School:
The intial bus visit was supposed to be one for a few teachers(15 )but once it started all the teachers came down to it (about 47) and the correspondent who happens to be the director of the golden temple also came down on hearing of the bus, was very much impressed by the program and is interested, so i am following up with the principal for a discussion tomorrow and he also offered me a trip to golden temple in special darshan.

Spark Matriculation School:
Though not scheduled I staggered the program to accomidate spark and inspite of the exams the principal arranged for the demo class for 3rd by divya and was very much impressed by the program but wants to go in a gradual manner once he is back from a one week's vacation, so i will be following the next sitting with him.

The school actually held a parent teacher interaction also to give an idea on XSEED and the visit was attended by numerous parents who gave excellent feedbacks and are very much impressed with the program and are for it. The principal is very much interested in the program and has also arranged for a workshop (mini clinic) on 10th Oct 09 post holidays from 0900hrs to 1200hrs with the committee.

Distributed 25 XSEED Preschool Admission flyers to parents playing with their children in the park, put up one on their Notice Board.

2. Spencer Plaza ,Mount Road –Anna Salai
The bus generated a lot of curious glances and we distributed parent flyers to all people entering one of the biggest shopping malls in south asia . The bus also did catch the policeman’s attention who saw the opportunity to collect some bribe money J

3. Marina Beach –Kamarajar Salai
We rode along the 14km shoreline of Marina and went over to distribute Preschool Admission flyers near MGR Memorial.

4. Guindy Children’s Park –Guindy
Parents filled in their contact details while distributing the parent flyers of the XSEED preschool , we camped right outside the entrance of the park.

5. Besant Nagar Beach –Besant Nagar
Distributed XSEED parent flyers to parents who had come along with their children along the beach.The XSEED bus took two rounds along the road beside the beach we saw people pointing their fingers at the bus.

High Moments :
1.  A Photographer was invited to take photos of the bus for publicity at City English School. The parents who
     came there were impressed with the bus and the way their children would be learning. They were happy to
     know that a school like City English is putting in so much effort towards making the school better.

2.  At Hilton School a demo class was conducted by Anuj, with about 7 teachers in the classroom along with the
     Vice-Principal, Correspondent and the Headmaster. They were totally amazed with the way the class was
     conducted especially the fact that a young guy like Anuj with minimal class experience was able to teach so
     well. The teachers spent a lot of time in the bus asking questions about the CM's.

3.  The best part was when we visited Bharath, we had about 15 teachers come in and about 40 students. The
     students were sent in batches and I questioned all of them asking, what was different in their studies from last
     year? Are you using the workbooks and how do you like them? What do they like about the workbooks?

The answers I got was very refreshing and made me feel very happy. Children said that they are having fun studying this year and that they are studying on their own will. They like the workbooks because they are based on Activities, Experiments, Projects. These were the words I heard from children of Classes 3, 4 and 5 which made me feel very happy.

1.  Mr. Charles, The Principal of Vikasa was very impressed with the demo classes. His teachers were also very
     positive towards the change that could take place in their school. The next step would be a meeting with their
     board members to discuss the finances.

2.  The Principal of Good Shepard was in awe of the bus and the advocacy video. He has been in touch with
     various companies like educomp, eduserve to implement something in his school and now he feels that this is
     what they were looking at and that he would recommend to the chairman regarding XSEED. Need to take the
     discussion forward with the Chairman.

• The Principal of Chinmaya told to the team of Corres & 40 teachers who attended this demo session after the 
   school hours and from the 3 different schools of the same management “this is how the class should be” and
   our way of teaching should transform to this way.

• The Principal also said “Divya looks to be a very experienced teacher and Divya replied I had been teaching for
   only 1.5 months and it happens only because of the XSEED Lesson plans”

• The Correspondent (RAMCO family member) of Chinmaya told that “she enjoyed the class and understood clearly
   about energy and its forms”

• The Corres of Srivi Lions has seen the complete XSEED Advocacy video” on the bus and appreciated it.

•  About 15 teachers, who visited the bus at Sivakasi Jaycees School, started noting down the learning outcomes

• The KMKA Matric is the school located in Thiruthangal, near Sivakasi is housed inside a complex of 5 schools with
   approx 6000 Students (The biggest ‘single location school population’ ever I have been to till date!!!) run by the
   same management

• Both Divya & Bharathi were given seats on the podium of a gathering of 20 teachers and almost 60 parents on
   the day of parents-teachers meet and asked to give short speech. And the demo class was arranged for the
   above audience and 53 students of 4 & 5 grades.

• Students thronged on the Divya and said “Please come every Saturday and take some classes”

• Correspondent said “I observed that after the class session was over, the students had lots of discussion with
   Divya, which means that XSEED as a way of teaching will work in our school”
