Our collaboration with partnering schools is built on a sound, common understanding of what a high-quality school of the future will be. We understand and implement the following principles:
1. Child Centred
Make children’s learning needs the driving force, not teachers or administrative
constraints. Recognise that each child is unique and adapt the experience to that
reality.
2. Real and Engaging
Use real experience and activity to promote true understanding and engagement.
Align the curriculum to emphasise the essential unity of knowledge and to the child’s
developmental stages.
3. Whole
Develop the whole person. A full mind is intellectually, emotionally and spiritualy
developed. A full body is fit, dexterous, well nourished and healthful.
4. Empowered Teachers
Find, train and inspire teachers who love children and teaching. Find a way to
compensate them well. Trust them to design the classroom experience and assess
children. Challenge them.
5. Connected to Community
A school should be connected to parents, the local community and the world. Children
should come out of school proud of their culture and appreciative of their natural
environment. |
